Darrel Rhea keynotes invitation-only event for leading technology executives

Redwood Shores, Calif. – June 13, 2007 –  On June 22nd, consumer electronics and technology  executives from retail and manufacturing, including eBay, Microsoft, Sony and others, will learn the critical importance of design thinking during times of disruptive and tumultuous change. Cheskin CEO Darrel Rhea will provide the Friday keynote presentation at the Consumer Electronics Associations’ (CEA) 11th Annual Consumer Electronics CEO Summit in Santa Barbara. He will highlight reasons why companies can no longer marginalize design, but must instead make it their engine for innovation.

“Design has emerged as a major weapon for differentiation, for innovation, and for driving revenue growth. Consumer electronics have always honored the importance of design applied to products,” says Rhea. “What I am talking about is using the same thinking and processes to design a company and the experiences of its customers. That is where real power is emerging and creating a shift in the business world.”

Rhea, industry’s leading advocate of consumer-led innovation, addressed senior audiences at more than a dozen conferences internationally this past year. These include the 2006 PDMA International Conference in Atlanta, the Forbes CEO Forum in New York, and the DMI European Design Management Conference in Copenhagen. In May, Darrel keynoted Better by Design 2007 in Auckland, a conference of CEOs sponsored by the New Zealand government.

Upcoming presentations include a keynote at the Color Marketing Group Fall International Conference and presentation at CONNECTING’07: Icsid/IDSA World Design Congress in San Francisco.
