Added Value has appointed Kate Jones as Brand Director in its London office with responsibility for insight, innovation and brand development, specifically for financial services, FMCG and retail sectors.

Kate is a former Mars Confectionery marketer, with agency experience in insight and innovation. She joins the UK board reporting to UK Managing Director, Bart Michels.

Kate graduated as a food scientist and joined Unigate in the sharp end of dairy production management in 1994, before joining Mars Confectionery in 1997. Over the next nine years, Kate’s career spanned wholesale and retail marketing in confectionery and petcare. Kate led the launch of White Chocolate Maltesers and the global brand management of its best-selling Aquarian pet food brand.

Kate left Mars in 2006 to consult, with Inzenka, for agencies and direct clients, specialising in brand growth and innovation during which time she launched new commercial ventures for companies such as Royal Mail, The Post Office, Experian and Unilever.

Bart Michels, Managing Director of Added Value, said: “Kate is a great, new addition to the senior team. Not only does she have spades of client and agency experience, but she has the passion and thirst for seeing things differently, bringing a new perspective and inspiring clients as she does –  just what we look for in our brand leaders.”

Kate Jones said: “I’m delighted to have joined Added Value. The company sets the standard for insight and innovation, and provides a platform for growth and development which is well-known and respected within the industry and of course an exciting client list.”

Outside of work, Kate is a proud member of ‘Chix with Stix’ knitting on the tube, in the pub and sometimes in meetings (if they go on a bit too long).
